Wednesday is my futsal day, with my knee giving me trouble, I still went XP. I love football, but since a football field is hard to come by plus there is the headache of getting two full team to play, futsal would be a more easier game to organize. I played some football back in school, defender by choice but I do enjoy venturing forward, maybe you can say that I am versatile or just ok in every position but standard is way below average.
Back in Kuching, I never played futsal, first experience is here in KL. I fell on my bottom just after I was introduced to the game...that was my memory of my first ever game. Along the way, I got a little better but still a lot of flaws in my game mainly due to my trauma which cause me to be paranoid of most things coming at me...yea, I am scared of the ball and a lot less aggressive than before (I think I ever wrote it in one of my previous post). I was a horrible keeper due to my fear but I do some decent stuff once in a while, most of the time is just hands down disappointing. Defending, I am still ok but my stamina usually fails me half way. Playing in an attacking role, I feel lost, get into the wrong position, misplaced passes or can't shoot properly...Horrible player huh? But I am still learning =).
Practise makes perfect but with the pace of the game being quite fast, decisions and techniques have to be spot on to make things happen. I do not know where did I got the instinct from but I scored a goal last night, one that I would regard very highly. Its a half volley from just outside the keeper's area, I sent the bouncing ball into the bottom right corner. I tried to recall what actually happened but I couldn't, as if that moment, it wasn't me controlling myself because knowing me, I could never do that. I can't even kick the ball properly for goodness sake!!
Laugh if you want that 20 grown men is chasing after one ball while two other are waiting between sticks. But with football able to united almost the whole world when the World Cup arrives (even those who do not watch football would tune in I believe), brings one into ecstasy in a moment and total despair the next. A tale of David vs. Goliath that can happen at any time at any given match. You just have to love it. I love football and last night was one to remember for me =).
